Spoilers For ROH Global Wars In Australia

Prior to the AEW Grand Slam: Australia 2025 event on Saturday February 15, a special ROH show entitled Global Wars was taped at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland. It was announced following the show that AEW were returning to Australia in 2026.

The show kicked off with The Learning Tree taking on Bandido and The Outrunners (who sported luchador masks to match their partner). The audience was wild for Big Bill, who once again captured the imagination of an international crowd. Bandido hit a suplex on Chris Jericho to score the clean win, putting himself in contention for the ROH World Championship. After the match, Powerhouse Hobbs emerged to clean house and stand tall with the babyfaces. 

ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty would then successfully defend his gold in Pure Rules against NJPW’s Australian star Robbie Eagles, who saw the audience rally behind him. Moriarty and Eagles shook hands after the match. Another hometown star got a big ovation as Mark Davis defeated Tommy Knight in a short but physical contest that saw the crowd showering them in “meat” chants. 

Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara then put their titles on the line against MxM Collection. Guevara’s high flying offense was over with the audience, as was Rhodes who played his role well as a serious competitor who was happy to match the comedic nature of MxM. In the end, the champions retained after a Swanton Bomb from Guevara onto Mason Madden. 

The main event of the evening saw Athena defend the ROH World Championship over Alex Windsor, with the two going back and forth in a very athletic bout that saw big moves from the top rope, physical strikes, and near-falls. Athena ultimately continued her lengthy reign to close out the show.
