Spoilers: Result Of Sammy Guevara Vs. Cody Rhodes For The AEW TNT Title

Who walked away with the title?

All Elite Wrestling taped the special 'Holiday Bash' edition of Rampage following the live episode of Dynamite on Wednesday, December 22 from the Greensboro Coliseum.

The Rampage taping was headlined by a TNT Title match between champion Sammy Guevara and Cody Rhodes and the championship ultimately changed hands on the show, with Rhodes defeating Guevara after two Cross Rhodes and a Tiger Driver.

Fightful noted David Crockett, the son of the late Jim Crockett, presented Cody with the TNT Title following the match. The Greensboro Coliseum was a popular venue for Jim Crockett Promotions during the territory era of wrestling and the first four Starrcade shows took place at the arena.

With Cody's win, Sammy Guevara's reign will come to an end after 88 days when the match airs on Christmas Day. He captured the title from Miro on the September 29 edition of Dynamite and successfully defended the gold four times against Bobby Fish, Ethan Page, Jay Lethal and Tony Nese.

The win also makes Cody Rhodes a three-time TNT Champion. He was the title's inaugural champion, defeating Lance Archer at Double Or Nothing 2020. The American Nightmare would then lose the gold to Brodie Lee in August before winning it back in a Dog Collar Match a couple of months later. Cody's second reign with the gold would only last 31 days, though, before he dropped the title to Darby Allin at the 2020 Full Gear pay-per-view.
