WWE Postpone Quebec Live Event Following COVID-19 Shutdown

The show has been postponed until March

WWE have confirmed the postponement of a Live Event in Laval, Quebec, Canada later this month following the implementation of further COVID-19 related restrictions.

WWE had been set to present a Live Event from Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, Canada on Thursday 30 December but Pat Laprade, a French-speaking commentator for Monday Night Raw, has confirmed on social media that the show has now been postponed and rescheduled for Sunday 6 March 2022.

The decision to postpone the event comes after Quebec put a new Shutdown in place earlier this week as a result of rising COVID-19 cases, due to the emergence of the Omicron variant. WWE would have only been able to hold the show at 50 per cent capacity anyway, but the new order has required the closure of all bars, casinos, cinemas and live performances.

The decision to postpone the show has called into question the certainty of other events going ahead as further provinces consider further COVID-19 restrictions. It has been reported by Sportsnet that WWE's show in Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday 29 December is still scheduled to take place, but will be postponed if the already implemented restrictions are further tightened.
