We are in the final few days of Sting’s professional wrestling career, with ‘The Icon’ calling time on his in-ring run with a main event tag title defence with Darby Allin against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution on March 3.

Ahead of his final match, Sting has been on a retirement tour with AEW, with the February 28 edition of Dynamite seeing Stinger descend from the rafters one final time, evoking memories of his legendary run in WCW, and his wars with the New World Order.

Sting spoke with Sports Illustrated ahead of Revolution, promising his final bout will see him wrestle in a way that fans will want to savour:

“I want people to walk away saying, ‘How was that even possible?’” said Sting. “I want people to be entertained. I want to elevate AEW. I never wanted wrestling to pass me by. That’s why I wrestled the way I did. This Sunday, I’m going to wrestle a way that will make people want to save the tape.”

Since joining AEW in 2020, Sting has repeatedly rolled back the years, with balcony dives, table bumps, and death defying leaps common for the multi-time world champion.
