Sting's AEW Contract To Expire In 2023

Sting’s AEW deal is up this year

It’s been one of the wrestling comeback stories we never necessarily knew we needed, as Sting has wound back the years time and again since debuting for AEW at Winter is Coming 2020, further cementing his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

However it seems like our time with ‘The Icon’ may be coming to an end, as a profile piece on Sting in D Magazine revealed that Sting’s AEW contract is up in 2023, and suggested that he will call time on his career when his deal ends.

It is as yet unknown exactly when Sting’s deal is up, with the former NWA and WCW World Heavyweight Champion having signed a multi-year deal with AEW in December 2020, several years after a short run in WWE.

Since signing with AEW, Sting has wrestled 13 times across TV and PPV, teaming with Darby Allin as well as the likes of CM Punk and The Hardys, and developed a fondness for leaping off of balconies. Sting is so far undefeated in AEW
