WWE’s developmental brand of NXT held a live event last night on January 17 in Citrus Springs, Florida at the Citrus Springs Community Center, and the show hosted a surprising return.

Former member of the WWE cruiserweight division and one-time 24/7 Champion Lince Dorado made an unannounced appearance, defeating Josh Black a singles match. In the aftermatch, Dorado took to X to talk about his return.

“Cats out of the bag! Time to get #luchalit @WWENXT #NXTCitrusSprings.”

Dorado has not competed in a WWE ring since all the way back in 2021, with his final match coming on an episode of Main Event in September of that year against Cedric Alexander. He was released from WWE soon after this following a five year stay in the promotion. In 2023, he revealed that he had returned as a trainer in the Performance Center

It isn’t known if this marks a full-time return to the WWE ring, though it should be noted that Demand Lucha announced on X this week that Dorado was stepping down as their champion. Dorado was formerly a member of the Lucha House Party faction, but let's hope he doesn’t bring Lucha House Rules back with him.
