Swerve Strickland In Talks With AEW Over Renegotiating Contract

Swerve Strickland is looking to agree a deal with AEW

Swerve Strickland is at the top of AEW right now as AEW World Champion, and he is heading into this weekend as one half of the All In: London 2024 main event against Bryan Danielson at Wembley Stadium. He revealed this week that he was in the process of committing his future to AEW, speaking to Barstool Rasslin

I’ve always said me winning the AEW World Championship was phase two. That was the beginning of phase two of my career. Right now, I’m in the midst of like a renegotiation stage because I’m really enjoying my status here in AEW, I’m enjoying everything about the locker room, the roster, the talent, the promotion. I love the fact that I’m a really big part of building the company to different revenue, different avenues and things like that, as far as AEW. So that’s going to be the beginning of phase three of my career, and this is truly just the beginning of what’s about to happen for me, not just the wrestling side but everything altogether as a performer.”

Strickland signed with AEW back in 2022, being revealed to fans as a huge new free agent signature. He went on to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships later that year, before going on a singles run in 2023 that propelled him to the main event and the AEW World Title in 2024. Strickland's upcoming title match with Danielson is Title vs. Career at All In, with a report giving a potential spoiler for the winner, which you can read here.
