The Butcher and The Blade on AEW TV in 2023

The Butcher and The Blade are no longer a part of All Elite Wrestling, it has been revealed.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has reported The Butcher and The Blade have left All Elite Wrestling after their deals expired and AEW opted not to offer the tag team contract extensions. This makes The Butcher and The Blade free agents.

The Butcher and The Blade had one of the more infamous debuts in AEW history on the November 27, 2019 episode of Dynamite when they attacked Cody Rhodes, with the debut primarily being defined by Jim Ross' notable confusion about who they were.

The Butcher and The Blade found themselves utilised in the mid-card of AEW's tag team division and moved through a number of factions during their time in the promotion, from initially being introduced as MJF's hired goons to Eddie Kingston's family to the Hardy Family Office/Andrade Hardy Family Office/Andrade Family Office, to an alliance with Kip Sabian.

They had not competed as a tag team on AEW TV since January 2024, with The Blade undergoing spinal fusion surgery one month later. The Butcher was utilised as a singles wrestler in Blade's absence, going 0-17 before AEW stopped booking him following a loss to Gabe Kidd on a February 2025 episode of Collision.

The Blade returned to the ring in December 2025, but he and The Butcher have only teamed together once since then at a March 2026 Limitless Wrestling event.
