The New Day Win World Tag Team Championships At WWE WrestleMania 41 Night One

The New Day are now record setting 12-time tag team champions in WWE, with the duo of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods defeating The War Raiders for the World Tag Team Championships at WWE WrestleMania 41 Night One.

The champs were quick to assert their dominance on the bout, using their obvious strength and size advantage to establish control. However, it didn’t tale long for the veteran New Day to take control, focusing their attacks on Erik’s surgically repaired neck, effectively neutralising one half of the Raiders.

Despite Ivar’s best efforts it was simply The New Day’s… day, Xavier Woods making the save for Kofi Kingston after the former WWE Champion took the full brunt of a massive Ivar moonsault. After a late flurry by The War Raiders, The New Day hit Daylight, with Kingston holding Ivar’s legs as Woods got the 1-2-3.

The win marks The New Day’s first tag title win since 2021, and the first win for the group at a WrestleMania event, having suffered losses at Mania 32 and 34. For Erik and Ivar, their WrestleMania record now stands at 0-2.
