The Rock Praising Tony Khan In PAC Tribute Video Still Being Discussed Within WWE

Tributes poured in across the professional wrestling world over the last month following the tragic news of Benjamin “PAC” Satterley’s passing, with many wrestlers, fans, retired names and more providing their thoughts, well wishes, and stories. One of those was The Rock, who posted to social media with a video tribute… though it was one that caused some controversy within WWE.

Within his remarks, The Rock noted that much like WWE, AEW is continuing to grow into a “phenomenal wrestling company”, offering praise to the promotion and to Tony Khan. On the back of these comments, it was noted that WWE were surprised by The Rock’s praise of AEW given that he is on the WWE Board Of Directors. In the aftermath of this report, The Rock responded saying that he didn’t care about competition, and that the wrestling world is tight-knit in times of tragedy. Things still haven’t quietened down, per a new report.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that there isn’t a week that passes in which The Rock’s comments about AEW are not brought up in WWE. It is said that WWE didn’t have any issues with The Rock’s tributes to PAC, but his praising of AEW & Khan is still a hot topic with the “sting” not going away.
