The Rock Reveals Randy Savage Was His Dream WWE Opponent

The Rock said it would have been 'an honour' to step in the ring with the Macho Man

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson wrestled many legends during his WWE career, from Steve Austin and The Undertaker to Kurt Angle and Hulk Hogan.

One star The Great One didn't get a chance to step into the ring with was WWE Hall of Famer Randy Savage. In a recent Instagram post, Johnson named Macho Man as his 'dream match'.

Sharing a post-workout snap of himself wearing some Savage-esque sunglasses, he wrote:

"That's a Saturday wrap. Another ones bites the dust in the #ironparadise. Feelin' Macho in my 'Ohhhh Yeah' shades (Savage was always my dream match as it would've been an honor to share the squared circle with him)"

The Rock and Randy Savage were, unfortunately, never in WWE at the same time. By the time The People's Champion debuted at the 1996 Survivor Series, Savage was established as a star for rival WCW. Savage never returned to WWE after leaving the company in November of 1994.

Savage spoke highly of The Rock when asked about him during a 2003 interview to promote his rap album Be a Man.
