The Rock has revealed that WWE began to mass produce elbow pads for him when he started to use The People's Elbow as one of his finishing moves.

As part of the theatrics around the manoeuvre, The Rock would throw one of his elbow pads into the live crowd, giving a member of the audience a cool piece of memorabilia to take home from the show.

A move birthed as a joke to make The Undertaker laugh, The People's Elbow is now one of the most iconic moves in wrestling history, leading to former Ring Of Honor talent Shane Taylor to speculate just how many elbow pads The Rock had lost during his career.

The Great One revealed that WWE were responsible for producing them and would sell them at shows as well, ensuring he never ran out.

Writing on Twitter, The Rock said: "Once I started throwing the my elbow pads out into the crowd, we just started producing them (WWE). We sold them nightly as merch, and I, of course would toss them in my finish. I also gave hundreds away weekly."
