Seven Bucks Productions - the television and film production company headed up by The Rock - are in the midst of producing a project about the legendary Ric Flair.

The Rock, business partner Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia will produce the expected Flair biopic along with Kevin Misher of Misher Films. Rock subsequently gave the following statement about the project to The Wrap:

“As a kid who grew up in professional wrestling, I idolised, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. He was a hero to me. And once I broke into the wrestling business and began to spill my own sweat and blood – my reverence for Ric turned to respect. Because I realised just how rare and impossible it is to disrupt the wrestling business, culture and truly change the game – and that’s exactly what Ric Flair did. This project is personal, and we can’t wait to tell his unbelievable story. As always, thank you for the house, Ric,” said Rock.

Seven Bucks Productions previously produced Fighting With My Family, with Florence Pugh portraying Saraya - fka Paige in WWE.

The upcoming production will be the first biopic produced about the influential and controversial ‘Nature Boy’, although Flair was featured in A24’s The Iron Claw, with Aaron Dean Eisenberg’s portrayal of the 21-time World Champion panned by wrestling fans.
