The Rock To Wrestle More Than Once In 2024

WWE changing their planned WrestleMania 40 main event may well have been a blessing in disguise after all.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is believed within WWE that The Rock will be wrestling more than once in 2024. Dwayne Johnson is internally planned to work WrestleMania 40 in a tag team match with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The match will likely be made official on tonight's episode of SmackDown. 

Beyond WrestleMania 40, though, there is a push within WWE for The Rock to wrestle during at least one of the company's shows in Saudi Arabia this year. According to reports, WWE are scheduled to go back to the Middle East in late May. There are a lot of variables in play that would determine if The Rock will wrestle in Saudi Arabia, however. 

Regardless of Saudi Arabia, The Rock will be having more than one match in 2024. 

Original plans called for Dwayne Johnson to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in the main event of WrestleMania 40. The Rock changed his mind and decided WWE should go with Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns following a backlash to Cody stepping aside for him on the February 2 episode of SmackDown.
