The Undertaker Doubles Down On WWE Retirement

'Taker retired at Survivor Series 2020

The Undertaker has reiterated his decision to retire as an active performer for WWE, saying his body can't deliver in the way his mind wants it to anymore.

Undertaker fought his final match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 before confirming his retirement in a short speech at Survivor Series 2020, at the event where the character made its debut 30 years prior.

The Last Ride docu-series on the WWE Network highlighted Undertaker's struggles to come to grips with his ending career in professional wrestling and, having called it a day, 'Taker maintains he does not want to do anything that could cheapen his character's legacy.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight to promote his new interactive Netflix film, Escape The Undertaker, he said: "As of this moment, yeah my days in the ring are done and it’s not because I don’t want to be in the ring.

"That’s where I’ve spent most of my adult life, my whole life really has been spent in the wrestling or sports entertainment ring. In my mind, I still can see everything and in my heart, I want to be out there but it’s at the point where my body can’t deliver what my mind and my heart see. My body can’t deliver that and I just don’t want to cheapen the legacy of that character.

"I’d hate for people to pay money to see me work and be disappointed."
