The Young Bucks Discuss Their Relationship With Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes left his AEW EVP position to rejoin WWE
With Cody Rhodes back in WWE, wrestling fans have been wondering about the relationship between Rhodes and his former fellow-EVPs in AEW.
A recent Young Bucks Twitter bio seemed to have told us everything we wanted to know, with The Jacksons writing “The story of a couple of self-made SoCal kids who came from nothing & built a gigantic movement was never going to be romantic enough for you” not long after Cody Tweeted that “Wrestling is a love story” after his WrestleMania return.
However, The Bucks have claimed this was not a shot at Rhodes, with Matt Jackson telling Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso:
“That Twitter bio was actually dedicated to cynical wrestling fans who’ve always discredited us and shaped a narrative early on that we weren’t important to the launch of AEW. So they ran with a story that made more sense to them. We talk to Cody regularly, and hope nothing but the best for him.”
So that’s that then, but wrestling fans will still be looking for clues as to their relationship in every Tweet, bio, and promo from now on.
