Theory Wins WWE United States Championship On Raw

Finn Balor has been dethroned

Theory is the new WWE United States champion, after defeating Finn Balor on Monday's episode of Raw in Buffalo.

For the finish, Balor missed the Coup de Grace, and was pinned after Theory followed up with the ATL. Theory had worked over Balor's neck during the match, and Balor sold neck pain after missing his finish, allowing Theory to take over.

After the match, a group of heels came to the ring to celebrate Theory's win. Vince McMahon then came out on the stage and joined in Theory's celebration, with the two sharing a selfie.

This is Theory's first championship in WWE. He previously held the EVOLVE championship, and is also a former Crash Heavyweight champion.

Balor's reign as champion ends after 49 days. He defeated Damian Priest to win the title on the February 28 episode of Raw, and went on to feud with Priest in the weeks that followed.

Theory dropped his "Austin" first name in an angle on last week's Raw. Following McMahon's altercation with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38, Vince decided to drop "Austin" from Theory's name.
