Thunder Rosa Provides Update On AEW Return

Thunder Rosa has commented on a potential AEW in-ring return

It's been eight months since Thunder Rosa last wrestled, with the former AEW Women’s World Champion being sidelined with a back injury in August 2022.

Rosa’s extended absence from the company has been the subject of much speculation. With Rosa recently returning to the road to provide Spanish language commentary for AEW programming, talk of an impending in-ring return intensified, but as Rosa revealed during the Busted Open WrestleMania Party, it isn’t so cut-and-dry:

"That's the question everyone asks me during the signings. Unfortunately, I wasn't cleared and I don't think I'm going to be cleared anytime soon. I need another MRI," said Rosa.

After initially keeping hold of the AEW Women’s World Championship in the wake of her injury, Rosa was eventually stripped of the title in November 2022, with Interim Champions Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter installed as lineal champions instead.

Rosa joined AEW in August 2020, officially signing a full-time deal with the company in July 2021. Prior to joining AEW, Rosa reigned as NWA Women’s Champion, eventually dropping the title to Serena Deeb in October 2020.
