Thunder Rosa Returns To AEW In Commentary Role

Thunder Rosa is back in AEW as a commentator

Since last wrestling in August 2022, we’ve not seen much of Thunder Rosa, with the former AEW Women’s World Champion forced to vacate the title due to a back injury.

Now Rosa has returned to AEW, although not in a wrestling capacity, with Rosa revealing on Twitter that she will be performing Spanish language commentary duties until she is fit to return to the ring:

“Exciting news, #AEW fans! While my recovery continues, I'll join @AEW as a Spanish commentator & on-screen personality. I'm thrilled to be able to serve Spanish-speaking fans in this unique way. Health is a journey with ups and downs. Meanwhile, I'll see you from the booth!”

Rosa debuted at the commentary booth last week.

Despite last wrestling in August, Rosa did not drop the AEW Women’s World Title until November 2022, with Tony Khan revealing that Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter’s ‘interim’ title runs would instead go down as lineal title runs.

Dave Meltzer reported in late 2022 that Rosa would not be returning to AEW TV until February 2023 at the earliest, so it remains to be seen how long Rosa will be in this new role before returning to active competition.
