Title Change At IMPACT Wrestling Tapings

IMPACT held their latest round of tapings over the weekend

There was a title change at the recent IMPACT Wrestling tapings, as Matt Cardona defeated Jordynne Grace to become the new IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion.

The match is due to air on either January 27 or February 3, and reports from those in attendance suggest that Cardona turned heel while getting the win. Cardona was at first hesitant to hit Grace with any of his big moves, but snapped, hitting Grace with a chair and Radio Silence for the win, the chair coming into play after the ref was distracted by Cardona trying to hit a belt shot. Post-match, Cardona posed on the ramp and flipped off the fans in attendance.

This win makes Cardona the second champion in IMPACT Digital Media Championship history, with Grace becoming inaugural champion in October 2021. This also marks Cardona’s first title win in IMPACT Wrestling.

Cardona has been face in IMPACT since his debut in January 2021, whilst simultaneously  becoming one of the most effective heels on the independent circuit, especially in GCW, where the former Zack Ryder is a former GCW World Champion, and current ECW World Television Champion.
