NJPW Cancels Remaining January Shows

No shows until February 6

Only a few days after the tour got underway, New Japan Pro-Wrestling have cancelled January's remaining New Year's Golden Series shows.

This comes after several wrestlers had elevated temperatures or had been in close contact with those that did. Six NJPW talents have missed three consecutive Golden Series shows, including Minoru Suzuki, Toru Yano, Tomoaki Honma, Taichi, Satoshi Kojima and TAKA Michinoku.

The events on January 25, January 29 and January 30 have all been cancelled. Meanwhile, the Friday, January 28 show from Aichi has been postponed until Monday, April 18. The event will take place at the Nagoya Congress Center Event Hall.

New Japan will resume shows on February 6, with New Year's Golden Series events continuing until February 20.

Reacting to the cancellation, NJPW English Commentator Chris Charlton tweeted: "Always frustrating, always a disappointment, but with proper isolation everyone will be safe and raring to go when we restart on the 6th, with live English back on @njpwworld the next night as well! #njgolden."
