A Scottish wrestler will challenge for a world championship at Clash At The Castle 2024
Clash At The Castle 2024 is fast approaching, with WWE heading to the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on June 15 for their next premium live event on the calendar. Scotsman Drew McIntyre is set to do battle with Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at the show, and he won’t be the only Scottish WWE wrestler to challenge for a world title.
It was announced last night that Scotland’s own Piper Niven would be challenging Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship at Clash At The Castle, giving the crowd two hometown stars to root for in big bouts. Bayley has had issues with both Piper Niven and Chelsea Green in recent weeks, and has been on the receiving end of beatdowns from Niven. On last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Niven ambushed Bayley as she walked to the ring, and would later defeat Bayley & Naomi in tag team action.
Niven’s tag team victory has earned her a title match against the champion. Bayley won the gold at WrestleMania 40 from Iyo Sky, and recently defended her championship against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a triple threat match at Backlash.
