Title Match, Trish Stratus Vs. Becky Lynch Set For WWE Night Of Champions

New matches announced for WWE Night of Champions

The Intercontinental Championship will be on the line at the Night of Champions pay-per-view on Saturday, May 27.

A Battle Royal was held on the May 15 edition of Monday Night Raw to determine a new number one contender for GUNTHER's championship and Mustafa Ali ended up as the last man standing, simultaneously eliminating Ricochet and Bronson Reed to win the match.

Night of Champions will be Ali's first match for the Intercontinental Championship since the Smackville WWE Network special in July 2019. Ali lost to Shinsuke Nakamura on that occasion. GUNTHER has been Intercontinental Champion for 340 days, having won the belt in June 2022.

Also set for Night of Champions is Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus. The two competitors have been feuding since Stratus attacked Lynch to turn heel on the April 10 edition of Monday Night Raw after they lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. Lynch returned to WWE TV last week and she announced on May 15 that she would face Stratus at Night of Champions. A contract signing will take place on next week's Raw to make the match official.

Check out the updated WWE Night of Champions lineup below:

  • Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles - WWE World Heavyweight Championship
  • Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa - Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes
  • Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch
  • GUNTHER (c) vs. Mustafa Ali - Intercontinental Championship
