Title Matches Set For NJPW Battle Autumn

Two title matches at NJPW Battle Autumn

Two title matches have been set for New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Battle Autumn event on Saturday, November 5. The show, which will be one of NJPW's final major events before Wrestle Kingdom 17, will take place at EDION Arena Osaka.

In an announcement, New Japan revealed the show would feature an IWGP United States Heavyweight Title match between champion Will Ospreay and Tetsuya Naito.

Naito earned the title shot at NJPW Royal Quest II on October 2, defeating Zack Sabre Jr. in a number one contender's match. Ospreay has been IWGP US Champion since he defeated SANADA for the vacant belt at Dominion in June. The Commonwealth Kingpin holds a win over Naito, having defeated him in the G1 Climax 32 semifinal.

The NEVER Openweight Championship will also be on the line when Karl Anderson defends the title against Hikuleo. The big man had previously been a part of Bullet Club but he recently turned babyface and left the faction, instead aligning with his brothers Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa.
