Title Unification & NXT Championship Match Set For NXT New Year's Evil 2022

Three huge Championship matches

Three Championship matches, including a Title Unification bout, have been set for WWE NXT New Year's Evil 2022.

The December 21 NXT show opened with Tommaso Ciampa accepting Bron Breakker's request for another shot at the NXT Championship. The Blackheart admitted that Breakker has earned the right at another opportunity at the Title but added that he exposed his inexperience during their first match, at NXT Halloween Havoc.

The two men each have a pin over the other. Ciampa pinned Breakker in their first Title Match while Breakker got the win for Team NXT 2.0 on Ciampa and Team Black & Gold at NXT WarGames.

Elsewhere, WWE are set to unify the NXT North American Title with the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong issued the challenge to North American Champion Carmelo Hayes, who gladly accepted.

The Title Unification bout adds credence to reports earlier this month that WWE were planning on scrapping the Cruiserweight Title and division.

Finally, a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Women's Championship has also been confirmed for New Year's Evil. Champion Mandy Rose will defend the Title against former champion Raquel Gonzalez and Cora Jade, who has previously defeated Rose in non-title action.

New Year's Evil will be presented by WWE NXT on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
