TNA Wrestling have carried out a major backstage shuffle, with several long-term employees leaving the company.
The biggest change for TNA comes in the form of George Veras taking over as TNA President from Anthony Cicione. The arrival of Veras and the assumed incoming arrival of his own production team has led to several departures on the TNA side. For Cicione, he will remain with Anthem in some capacity after serving as TNA President for a year.
PWInsider reports that former Ring of Honor Director Mark Brown will also be joining TNA as a director, with Brown having been at several TNA shows as of late.
The two biggest departures are that of Josh Mathews and Christy Hemme, with Sports Illustrated noting that several within TNA were surprised about the outgoings, specifically Mathews and Cicione. Mathews had been with TNA since 2014, formerly working as lead announcer for IMPACT, before taking up a position in production. The arrival of George Veras and his new team is believed to have been the impetus for Mathews’ exit, with Mathews having been seen as a mainstay in the company.
Hemme was part of TNA in its Knockouts division for several years before rejoining the then IMPACT Wrestling in 2020 to help oversee the brand’s social media strategy.
