TNA's Shark Boy Makes AEW Appearance

Oh shell yeah! Shark Boy arrives in AEW... kinda

Former TNA star Shark Boy made an appearance prior to last night's Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite.

The TNA alumnus showed up in a backstage segment with Shark Week mascot Chompie and interacted with Renee Paquette and RJ City.

The masked man was drafted in to help with the Shark Week tie-in. Shark Week - an annual week of shark-related programmes on the Discovery Channel - takes place between July 23 and 30. The Discovery Channel is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, which also owns TBS (the station that airs AEW Dynamite).

Debuting in 1997, Shark Boy has had a long and varied career but is mostly known for his run in TNA/IMPACT. The 48-year-old made a brief return to IMPACT last year, which included winning the Reverse Battle Royal at Slammiversary 2022.

Real name Dean Roll, he filed a lawsuit against Miramax Films in 2005, claiming that their release of the film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D infringed upon his trademark. The suit was settled in April 2007 for an undisclosed amount.
