TNT Title Match, Owen Hart Cup Quarterfinal Set For 5/13 AEW Rampage
The road to Double or Nothing continues
Former partners will collide in a TNT title match, while a quarterfinal bout in the women's Owen Hart Cup tournament will take place, on next week's AEW Rampage.
TNT champion Scorpio Sky will defend his title against a man he promised a shot to, former SCU partner Frankie Kazarian. Kazarian confronted the champion as Sky, Ethan Page, and Dan Lambert addressed the crowd during Friday's Rampage, bringing up Sky's earlier promise. Sky held true to his word and granted the match for next week.
Sky and Kazarian were AEW's first World Tag Team champions, winning the titles in a tournament final over The Lucha Brothers in October of 2019. The reign lasted close to three months.
In Women's Owen Hart Cup action, Ruby Soho will take on Riho in a quarterfinal bout. Riho qualified for the tournament during Friday's Rampage, defeating Yuka Sakazaki.
Another quarterfinal has been announced for this Wednesday's Dynamite, as Jamie Hayter takes on Toni Storm.
The card for next Friday's AEW Rampage, being taped this Wednesday after Dynamite at UBS Arena on Long Island, is as follows:
* AEW TNT: Scorpio Sky (c) vs. Frankie Kazarian
* Owen Hart Foundation Cup Women's Quarterfinal: Ruby Soho vs. Riho
