Tom Hannifan Re-Signs With IMPACT Wrestling

Tom Hannifan to remain with IMPACT Wrestling

Tom Hannifan won't be leaving IMPACT Wrestling anytime soon.

In a press release touting IMPACT Wrestling's successful Q1 2023, Anthem Sports revealed that Hannifan re-signed with the promotion in the past few months. Hannifan's name was mentioned alongside the re-signing of The Motor City Machine Guns and the signing of KiLynn King.

Hannifan signed with IMPACT Wrestling in January 2022 as the play-by-play announcer for all IMPACT TV alongside colour commentator Matt Rehwoldt. Hannifan previously worked for WWE from 2012 until 2021, serving as the lead commentator on Raw, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK, and other WWE programming. He also worked in a backstage role but was replaced after WrestleMania 37 and released one month later.

With the announcement, it suggests that Hannifan only signed a one-year deal with IMPACT in January 2022.

Hannifan will be on the call for IMPACT Wrestling's Rebellion pay-per-view on Sunday, April 16. A new IMPACT World Champion will be crowned on the show when Steve Maclin and KUSHIDA go one-on-one for the vacant belt. The X-Division Championship will also be on the line in a three-way, while an infamous TNA match will be revived for the clash between PCO and Eddie Edwards.
