Tommaso Ciampa & Pete Dunne Set For WWE Main Event

The NXT stars will be in action on this week’s edition of Main Event

This week’s edition of WWE Main Event will see NXT’s Tommaso Ciampa and Pete Dunne in action, a week after the pair wrestled each other in a dark match before SmackDown.

Ciampa was in action against T-BAR, picking up the win against the former Dominik Dijakovic, whilst ‘The Bruiserweight’ defeated Akira Tozawa, with both matches taped prior to last night's edition of WWE RAW.

Neither man has performed on Main Event before, and coupled with the SmackDown dark match, Ciampa’s recent NXT Title loss to Bron Breakker, and Dunne not wrestling on NXT TV since December 21, it could indicate that the two are being groomed for a main roster call-up in the not too distant future.

It should be noted that there nothing is confirmed regarding a move up to main for either man, but few would be surprised if it were to happen.

Dunne and Ciampa also recently worked together at the WWE House Show at Madison Square Garden on Boxing Day, and Ciampa also performed on WWE’s European Tour in late 2021.
