Tommaso Ciampa Becomes Latest WWE Talent To Regain Their First Name

Tommaso Ciampa was referred to by his full name on last night's episode of Raw

WWE star Tommaso Ciampa is the latest performer to be given his first name back.

The former two-time NXT Champion was known simply as 'Ciampa' upon his move from NXT to Raw following WrestleMania 38. Backstage on last night's Raw, he was referred to by his full name during a backstage segment with The Miz, though.

Austin Theory and Matt Riddle have both regained their first names in recent weeks too.

Fightful select reported that Riddle was in favour of the change back to his full name, while Theory became happy with the change to a single name, as things progressed. However, it added that Riddle didn't mind the adjustment in the first place.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque noted that he made the change back to reflect realism.

As far as other name changes, Pete Dunne is still listed as Butch on WWE's internal roster, despite recently switching back to his old Pete Dunne ring gear. Fightful also inquired about a potential rebrand for T-BAR, though he is still listed under that name on internal roster sheets.
