Toni Storm Criticises Creation Of Interim AEW Women's World Title

The new AEW Women's World Champion has criticised her own previous reign.

At the post-Double or Nothing press conference, new AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm spoke critically about her previous reign - one which was categorised as an interim reign at the time, but has since been retroactively recognised as a full part of the title's lineage.

"It felt extra special this time. I’m sure we can all agree that the interim thing was bulls***. Right, Tony [Khan]? Crazy. That was a tough, terrible time. It feels great because this is what it should have been the whole time."

Storm defeated Jamie Hayter to win the belt for a second time, although the victory came after a pre-match beatdown on Hayter courtesy of Toni and her Outcast allies, Saraya and Ruby Soho.

The AEW Women's World Championship's interim period came after Thunder Rosa's announcement of an injury in August 2022, one which has kept her out of action ever since. However, other AEW roster members such as Storm and Britt Baker have previously taken issue with Rosa as she didn't work through to All Out to drop the belt to Storm.
