The landscape of professional wrestling has changed in recent weeks following Vince McMahon's retirement and there has been much speculation about how WWE will look in a few years following Triple H's appointment as head of creative and Executive Vice President of Talent Relations.

Some speculation has suggested that WWE will be more interested in signing talents currently with All Elite Wrestling, particularly with many AEW wrestlers having a close connection to The Game from their time in NXT, and a recent report even noted that Triple H is likely to be "intense" when bidding for talents from Tony Khan's promotion.

Tony Khan addressed potentially having some of his talent poached by WWE and the AEW President admitted he is probably more concerned about that eventuality following Triple H's recent promotion.

"I think that's always been a concern, but now probably more so than ever, I imagine great wrestlers are going to be in demand. And again, I think this is probably going to be good for the wrestling fans because that's one of the most exciting things about pro wrestling: free agency. It's one of those things that was really missing from the sport for almost two decades before AEW came in, because there was not a legitimate competitor in the free agent market, and now there is. I think it's going to be some exciting times ahead, hopefully for many years to come," Khan said on SportsGrid.

"One of the worst things that happened, I think, in American sports in my lifetime was when WCW closed down. And there should always be another national wrestling company."
