Tony Khan Allowing Bryan Danielson To 'Do What He Wants' For Final Year As A Full-Time Wrestler

Bryan Danielson doing what he wants in 2024

Bryan Danielson has continued to prove he is one of the best wrestlers in the world in 2024, having had widely praised matches against the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Hechicero, and Yuji Nagata. Danielson competed in a match-of-the-year contender on Sunday, February 11 when he faced Zack Sabre Jr. at NJPW New Beginning in Osaka.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Danielson having such a critically acclaimed start to 2024 is the American Dragon's own making as Tony Khan is allowing Danielson to "do what he wants" for his final year as a full-time wrestler.

"One of the things that's happened this year is Tony Khan is letting Bryan Danielson do what he wants, yeah. He's letting a lot of guys do that. Some people say too many [laughs] but he's letting Sting do what he wants. In a lot of ways, it's kind of cool. Bryan Danielson is going to go out scripting his last year, like Sting is going out scripting his last match," Meltzer said.

Danielson will finish up as a full-time wrestler later this year, shortly after his daughter turns seven. The American Dragon will have the opportunity to win a title before he retires and he will challenge Eddie Kingston for the AEW Continental Crown Title at Revolution on March 3.
