Tony Khan Always Wanted CM Punk To Return To AEW

Tony Khan reveals he always wanted a CM Punk AEW comeback

After almost a year of absence, CM Punk will be returning to AEW at the debuting Collision show tonight, teaming up with the AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to take on the trio of Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe. His return has been up in the air over the last year following the controversial Brawl Out incident, but it seems as though AEW owner Tony Khan always wanted ‘The Best In The World’ back on TV. When speaking on Busted Open Radio, Khan revealed that a Punk return was always on his mind.

"For me, I always wanted to get CM Punk back in the ring and I'm really excited that it's finally happening tomorrow night. I always wanted to make that happen and I'm glad it's happening."

Khan was also asked about what a Punk return would mean for AEW, and the AEW owner only had positive things to say, with him stating that Punk is the key to making Saturday night wrestling a tradition once again.
