Tony Khan Comments On WWE-Netflix Deal

Tony Khan has spoken of the WWE-Netflix deal

As part of ongoing broadcast rights renewals across the company, WWE signed a lucrative and historic deal with Netflix to broadcast RAW from January 2025, with WWE’s flagship show leaving traditional broadcast platforms for the first time in its 30-year-plus history.

The deal has wide-ranging implications for the future of pro-wrestling television, as well as media rights across all sports in general, and All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan has given his thoughts on the matter, saying the following to Payne & Pendergast:

"Absolutely. We're excited to get big media rights renewals in the wrestling business. That's great to see for everybody. We're in a big contract year, too, and I think AEW is going to get big media rights. Right now, we have a great partnership on TBS and TNT that I want to continue for a long time. We've been on since 2019, it's five years now we're going on TBS and TNT, and it's been great and I want to keep it going because there is a great tradition of wrestling on those channels,” said Khan.

AEW are believed to be in discussions with broadcast partner Warner Bros. Discovery about a renewal on their broadcast deal, with AEW’s current deal set to expire later in 2024.
