Tony Khan has confirmed that the joint Forbidden Door pay-per-view between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling on June 26 drew an estimated 127,000 buys.

"The Forbidden Door pay-per-view was a huge success. We estimate about 127,000 buys right now and still, with replay buys trickling in, it was ahead of all projections and expectations. And I absolutely would love to do it again, and I think that we will do it again going forward, I anticipate," Khan said on Busted Open Radio.

Past reports noted that pay-per-view buys for Forbidden Door were down from the 155,000 that Double Or Nothing drew on May 29, primarily because the show did not draw as well on FITE and traditional pay-per-view in Europe, with 80 percent of buys coming from the United States.

Forbidden Door was a moneymaker for AEW and NJPW and the total net revenue for the pay-per-view was estimated to be $4.4 million, with $3.1 million coming from pay-per-view buys.

Forbidden Door featured several high-profile matches and was headlined by an Interim AEW World Title match between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
