Tony Khan Discusses Johnny Elite's AEW Debut

The AEW owner is full of praise for the recent debutant

All Elite Wrestling Owner and President Tony Khan has praised Johnny Elite following his debut on the May 18 episode of Dynamite.

Johnny Elite - formerly WWE's John Morrison - was revealed as The Joker in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, losing a competitive quarterfinal match with Samoa Joe.

Weighing in on his appearance while guesting on Busted Open Radio, Khan said:

"Oh man, it was great to have Johnny Elite here.

"What a great match-up he had with Samoa Joe. It was a great way to make his debut in the Owen [Hart Foundation Tournament]. That was tremendous, and really, I am very glad he was here. He's a great mentor to some of the young wrestlers in the locker room, and somebody I think fans have looked up to for a long time, and he went toe-to-toe with one of the toughest wrestlers in AEW. One of our great stars, and one of the greatest stars in the history of Ring of Honor – Samoa Joe".

Though the star has yet to agree to a full-time deal with the company, it appears he has a fan in AEW's head honcho.

John Morrison was released by WWE on November 18, 2021.
