Tony Khan Doesn't Rule Out Eventual The Elite vs. Undisputed Elite Trios Match

The Elite vs. Undisputed Elite initially looked destined to happen

While All Elite Wrestling looked set to have a major feud in the autumn with The Elite of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks vs. The Undisputed Elite of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O'Reilly, any plans the promotion had have been scuppered.

Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly did return in early August to turn on The Young Bucks but Cole is still not medically cleared to compete due to a serious concussion, while O'Reilly has undergone fusion neck surgery that will keep him out of action until next year. Bobby Fish has also departed AEW following the end of his contract and The Elite are currently suspended after a backstage fight with CM Punk and Ace Steel post-All Out.

Despite all of the setbacks, Tony Khan hasn't ruled out revisiting a potential The Elite vs. Undisputed Elite match in the future.

"It'd be interesting to go back and think about it certainly. While it hasn't come to fruition, you never know. I certainly wouldn't want to rule out the possibility of some day that potentially happening. On the other hand, you mentioned injuries and unforeseen circumstances that have taken place. Those are all great wrestlers and two great trios," Khan said on In The Kliq.

The Elite's long-term futures in AEW remain uncertain while they are suspended. Cole's return date is also unknown.
