Tony Khan Has Always Been A Big Mistico (Sin Cara) Fan
Tony Khan is a massive supporter of Mistico
Mistico is coming to AEW after being announced for a match at next week’s AEW Rampage event on October 14, taking on Rocky Romero in a bout which will continue their ongoing feud outside of the company.
Bringing in someone like Mistico (the former and original Sin Cara in WWE) could seem a little random on paper, but in actual fact Tony Khan has always been a massive supporter of the luchador sensation, dating back to his time in and before WWE. Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that when Khan was in his 20s, he was among his favourites. In fact, Meltzer also went on to reveal that Khan was in attendance for Mistico’s US WWE debut in Champaign, Illinois, with Khan providing a house show report to Meltzer and The Observer.
This is another example of Khan bringing in an old favourite, much like he has done with the likes of CM Punk, Sabu, and more over the last few years.
