Tony Khan Looking To Rekindle ROH-NJPW Working Relationship

Tony Khan looking to work with NJPW in ROH

Tony Khan is looking to rekindle the working relationship between New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor.

Ring of Honor and NJPW formed a working relationship back in 2014 and the company have co-promoted a number of shows, including several Global Wars and War of the Worlds events. Their biggest show together was April 2019's G1 Supercard from Madison Square Garden.

The two promotions have not officially dissolved their working relationship but they have not done anything of note together for the past few years outside of a Jeff Cobb match at ROH Final Battle due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the purchase of Ring of Honor by Tony Khan.

ROH have had a presence on AEW TV alongside three pay-per-views under Khan's ownership but the promotion is set to resume weekly TV in 2023 with a show on HonorClub. When speaking about the streaming service with TV Insider, Khan noted the subscriber count is strong before noting that he is looking to do more with NJPW in regards to Ring of Honor.

"As I understand it the numbers we already reached in a very short time are strong in membership and customer base. More than ever before. It's a great value to join HonorClub right now. We're going to be following up soon to talk about when the weekly Ring of Honor TV will launch and stream on HonorClub for sure. There are a lot of interesting partnerships and possibilities with great wrestling companies. Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling had a great working relationship we are rekindling. We are looking to rekindle that long relationship. Ring of Honor may be in the strongest position they've ever been in its 20 years. It's the perfect time to take the training wheels off," Khan said.

NJPW already have a working relationship with Tony Khan's other promotion, AEW, and several New Japan talents have appeared on AEW programming since the beginning of 2021.
