Tony Khan Open To Bringing Johnny Elite Back To AEW

Johnny Elite could be back in AEW soon

Johnny Elite made his AEW debut on the May 18 edition of Dynamite, losing to Samoa Joe in the quarterfinal of the Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament. Elite has yet to become All Elite, though, with it being noted after his debut that he was not signed to the promotion.

This doesn't mean The Prince Of Parkour is done with AEW, though, and Tony Khan revealed on the pre-Double Or Nothing media call that he is interested in bringing Elite back to the promotion.

"Well, John is tremendous. I really like Johnny Elite and it was great to have him debut in the Owen Hart tournament as the Joker. He was a very important person in the tournament, he came in and provided a big surprise and also gave a great match to Samoa Joe. Now with Samoa Joe going into the finals, earning his place last night, that match looks even more important in hindsight," Khan said.

"I think he had a great debut and I definitely brought him in with the thought that this is somebody I would be open to bringing back and interested to bring back in the future. After the great debut match he had, I'm still very interested, probably even more interested in John coming back. So absolutely, I'd be very open to that. I think John is great and we'd love to see Johnny Elite again in AEW."

While Elite has not been announced for a second AEW appearance, he will be a part of PROGRESS Wrestling's upcoming Super Strong Style 16 tournament as Johnny PROGRESS. Find out more here.
