Tony Khan Open To Introducing Another AEW Title
Tony Khan could introduce yet another title to AEW
One criticism levelled at All Elite Wrestling is that they have too many championships, wit eight sanctioned titles available in the company, plus the unsanctioned FTW Championship, and the six Ring of Honor sanctioned championships.
However, despite this, there are legitimate calls for another championship to be created in the company - women’s tag team championships, and AEW President Tony Khan is open to the idea, saying the following during the post-Worlds End media scrum:
"It’s something I think would be great. We’ve definitely shown we can expand our programming and certainly some of the best matches and most exciting rivalries we’ve ever had in the women’s division in recent weeks and months. Julia Hart as the TBS Champion is at the epicentre of that, absolutely, I think that would be tremendous and something I’m very open to doing and it would be great. There are a lot of great tandems, some that are active right now that would be great, and some that haven’t teamed in a while that could be great for that. There are a lot of great opportunities there and something to keep an eye on," Khan said.
Many fans have called for women’s tag titles to be introduced in AEW, whilst former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose has also called for their creation.
