Tony Khan Opens Up On Realising His Vision For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Tony Khan feels his vision has been realised with Forbidden Door this year

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is coming up this Sunday. Last year’s event was a success, though it was mired with injuries which saw big names like Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, and CM Punk miss out on the show. This year the card is stacked with big names and dream matches, and Tony Khan has opened up about how this was his initial vision of the event when talking on Busted Open Radio.

"I think [Forbidden Door] was about building the dream matches as best we can. I think it really helps when the stars from New Japan come over here to help build the pay-per-view.”

He went on to say how he feels that this upcoming show will be testament to his vision becoming a reality, with the focus being more on fantasy booking and dream matches, and also noted how cooperative NJPW have been when putting together an event such as this.

The card for Forbidden Door is as follows;

  • Kazuchika Okada vs. Bryan Danielson
