Tony Khan Reveals He Recently Spoke To Goldberg

Tony Khan has spoken to Goldberg

After his WWE contract expired at the end of 2022, Goldberg became a free agent in professional wrestling once again. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion doesn't look to be retiring just yet, though, and Goldberg has mentioned promoting his own four-city retirement tour that looks set to feature a match in Israel.

Tony Khan has also hinted that Goldberg could end up wrestling in AEW, having mentioned he was keeping an eye on Goldberg's free agent status.

In an update, Khan mentioned he had spoken to Goldberg recently during the post-Double or Nothing media scrum. Khan did not reveal the context of their conversation, however, beyond that them speaking wasn't that unusual.

"Yeah, I have talked to Bill. It wouldn't be that unusual. I've talked to Bill when he's not been under contract at times, and I have a good relationship with Bill. I have had a good conversation with him, but I've had a lot of great conversations with Bill. His family has done a lot of great things in Jacksonville, he's related to the Wolfson family, who built the Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville. Bill is a great former football star, I worked in football, and it's a big part of my life. We have a lot in common and we have a lot of mutual friends, and I have a really good relationship with Bill. I like him a lot. As to what I've talked to him about, I would say that's just between the two of us. It was a good chat. I like Bill a lot, he's a great guy," Khan said.

If Goldberg were to turn up in AEW, speculation has tipped him to be involved in a possible retirement match for Sting. According to Rick Bassman, Sting has held talks about being involved in Goldberg's retirement tour.
