Tony Khan Thinks Wardlow Might Be The Future Of Pro Wrestling

Wardlow could be a top star in AEW for a while

Wardlow looks set to be a featured performer in All Elite Wrestling for many years to come.

Speaking about Mr Mayhem ahead of the Full Gear pay-per-view on November 19, AEW President Tony Khan heaped praise on Wardlow, noting the 34-year-old has as good a chance as anybody of being the future of the business.

"I believe Wardlow probably, in many ways, has as good a chance to be the future of pro wrestling as anybody. He's someone we really see as a star for the future here, and is a homegrown star," Khan said on the AEW Unrestricted podcast.

Wardlow has established himself as one of AEW's top stars since 2022. He first turned on MJF at Revolution before finally freeing himself of the Salt of the Earth at Double or Nothing with a decisive win over Friedman. Shortly after, Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky to win the TNT Title and he reigned as champion until he dropped the gold to Samoa Joe in a Three-Way also featuring Powerhouse Hobbs at Full Gear.
