Over the last year, AEW have expanded out their scope, holding shows in several different countries such as Mexico, Australia, England, Wales, and Japan. Tony Khan is hoping to branch out further, growing AEW more by visiting even more nations, in addition to returning to those he’s already visited.
Speaking with Sports Business Journal, Khan touched on his plans for the future.
“This year, we’ve expanded into great new places with our first-ever event in Mexico and our first-ever event in Australia. I want to continue expanding into new territories and going back to these places that have been really successful, like Mexico and Australia. There’s a lot of momentum and positivity around the locker room.”
In another interview with WFAA, Khan was asked about holding events in the likes of Saudi Arabia, to which Khan responded that any deal would have to make sense for AEW.
"Well, it depends on the situation. I think, you know, it's all about the details. So it would have to be a deal that made sense for that territory, and especially for us here at AEW."
Tony Khan also recently spoke on WWE’s counter-programming towards AEW across AEW All In weekend, in addition to a potential rebranding for ROH.
