Top WWE Star To Retire Within Two Years

Enjoy them while you can.

A legendary WWE Hall of Famer hopes to hang up his boots within the next two years.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani for The MMA Hour, Rey Mysterio was asked when he thinks he will retire, to which he said: "I'm hoping that it can be within the next year and a half or two, maybe"

The masked man has contemplated retirement several times in the past. The 48-year-old considered calling it a day in 2019, but was convinced to continue by his son (and fellow WWE star) Dominik.

Mysterio reportedly spoke with Paul 'Triple H' Levesque about retiring at WrestleMania 39 (where he defeated Dominik in a singles match), the same weekend he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Rey is the current WWE United States Champion, in his third reign. He was called out by Logan Paul following Paul's boxing match victory over Dillon Danis last weekend.

During his interview with Helwani, Mysterio responded to the callout by saying:

"He said, 'I have my eye on someone and something'. He said, 'That U.S. title, Rey Mysterio'. I was like, 'What did he just say? No way', and I had to rewind it to make sure. He called me out like, okay. I'm not hard to find. You can find me every Friday night on SmackDown so I can't wait to see what he has to say".

The two men will come face-to-face on this Friday's SmackDown.
