Tournament To Be Held To Crown First ROH Women's TV Champion
The first ROH Women's TV Champion will be crowned following a tournament
Tony Khan sure does love a tournament, and he has booked another one in Ring of Honor. It was announced over the last couple of weeks that a brand new belt was being introduced to ROH in the form of the ROH Women’s World Television Championship.
This is the first midcard women’s belt in ROH, which makes sense given that the brand showcases more women than in AEW for instance. It has now been announced that the inaugural champion will be determined following a tournament. No bracket has yet been announced, but five of the competitors in the field have been revealed already.
Leyla Hirsch, Keira Hogan, Rachel Ellering, recent ROH Women’s World Title contender Billie Starkz, and Lady Frost were all granted backstage promos on ROH programming this week, all detailing their intention to become the first ever ROH Women’s TV Champion. It isn’t known when the tournament will be announced, though it is likely that more participants will continue to be announced in the coming weeks.
