Trent Seven is looking to secure funding for a new European wrestling promotion that may even end up airing on one of the United Kingdom's biggest free-to-air TV channels, Channel 5.

Sky News has reported that Seven – real name Ben Webb – is part of Project Fight, and the company are working with a sports advisory firm to secure £5 million in funding to help the project become "Europe's number one televised wrestling brand."

The Project Fight advisory board also includes former CEO of Sport England Roger Draper and CEO of production company Sunset+Vine Peter Angell, and talks have been held with Paramount, the owners of Channel 5, about working together on the promotion.

Project Fight have been in talks with prospective investors for weeks, according to Sky News, and Trent Seven is aiming to "transform the UK and European professional wrestling landscape and create a business valued at over £100m over the next five years."

A pilot for the potential new promotion is expected to be taped next year, dependent upon the company securing funding.

Without naming the promotion, Seven noted he helped change the landscape of British wrestling, saying: "I built a company from a disused scout hut with 40 friends and family in the crowd and grew it organically to thousands at the NEC, all over the UK, Japan, Mexico, USA and the world, and it helped changed the landscape of British wrestling. There is a huge, passionate professional wrestling fanbase in the UK that lacks a domestic promotion to follow and is underserved by existing promotions."

That company is Fight Club: Pro, which was one of the biggest independent wrestling promotions in the United Kingdom during the 2010s. The promotion ceased operations in 2020, however, due to the Speaking Out movement.

Martin Zaki, the co-owner of Fight Club: Pro, was removed from the company following allegations of sexual harassment, while the promotion severed ties with trainer Travis Banks after he was accused by Millie McKenzie of emotional abuse and abusing his position of power during their secret relationship, which began when he was 30 and she was 17.

During his pro wrestling career, Trent Seven has had sustained runs in WWE and TNA Wrestling. He currently performs today on the European independent wrestling scene for the likes of NORTH, RevPro, and OTT.
